Credit where credit is due: Pakistan’s role in reducing the global burden of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH)

Journal article

Pakistan’s poor progress in improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) is rooted in low female literacy, gender inequity, political challenges, and extremist violence. However, despite this, Pakistani researchers have been able to contribute significantly towards the global knowledge and evidence base in this area. The paper calls for greater investments to facilitate the generation and use of policy relevant research in Pakistan through fair incentives for researchers, increased efforts to improve decision-makers’ capacity to demand and use evidence, and sustained support from global development partners.
