Engaging policy-makers and health systems managers in the conduct of rapid reviews

Book

Chapter 5: Engaging policy-makers and health systems managers in the conduct of rapid reviews reports on the importance of facilitating an effective partnership between researchers and decision-makers. Although engagement with policy-makers or health systems managers can be challenging, this chapter discusses how early, active and continuing engagement is imperative to increase the relevance and applicability of rapid reviews. It is recommended that researchers make certain that the level of engagement is fit for purpose and is tailored to existing resources, while ensuring that the engagement itself is meaningful. This chapter also covers the various objectives of engagement, points and processes, supportive structures and mechanisms, as well as benefits and challenges.
